This is fucked up! My Pleco eating a swordtail .I noticed one of my swordtails laying on the bottom of the tank last night. I knew he was going to die, I started to net him out, to give him a respectful funeral flush, but he kind of moved a bit.

So I debated scooping him out and flushing him, but decided to give him until this morning, I hated the thought of flushing him while he was still alive.

I should have flushed him. I have this crashed plane decoration in this tank and he somehow made it in there.

The next time I walked by the tank my big ass pleco was chomping on him, he actually had taken his head off!

I figured, well, I might as well let him finish eating him, and I thought he did, because next time I walked by I couldn't see the dead fish anywhere.

Then I saw this the next time...god, I will never over think the ethics of flushing a fish that looks like he's dying again.

I did a 60% water change, to make sure there wasn't any ammonia in the water because of it.

I guess it was more natural than a funeral flush...At least Mr Pleco had himself a feist anyway...and he does keep the bottom of the tank pretty clean...
